Emby Library Troubleshooting on Senway 1

Use this guide when Senway 1 opens an Emby-compatible player but cannot reach your server, sign in, or play a title. Senway 1 is the player in your vehicle; your Emby Server and media library remain on the computer or storage system you manage.

Before troubleshooting: Park safely, connect Senway 1 to the internet, and note which compatible Emby player you selected: Emby Official and Plezy. If someone else manages your Emby Server, they may need to perform the server checks below.

Start with these quick checks

  1. Confirm Senway 1 is online. Open Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi and verify that the network shows as connected.
  2. Close and reopen the Emby player. If the problem remains, restart Senway 1 after playback has stopped.
  3. Check whether the same library works from another device on the same network as Senway 1.
  4. Write down the exact message shown on Senway 1 and whether the issue affects every title or only one.

The Emby server or library does not appear

When Senway 1 is in a vehicle or connected through a phone hotspot, it is usually outside the home network where Emby Server is running. A local-only server address that works at home may not work from the vehicle. The server owner must set up a remote connection and allow the relevant user account to connect remotely.

  1. Ask the server owner to confirm that Emby Server is powered on and running.
  2. Ask the server owner to confirm that remote connections are enabled for both the server and the account being used, if their setup requires those permissions.
  3. If the server owner uses Emby Connect, confirm that the account is linked to the correct server. Otherwise, ask for the correct secure remote server address.
  4. Test the server from a phone with Wi-Fi turned off. If it works only on the home Wi-Fi network, remote access is not ready for Senway 1.
  5. In the Emby player on Senway 1, use the Add Server button if a manual server address is needed. Enter the address provided by the server owner.t
  6. Change the default port to :8096 and make sure URL security is selected correctly to http or https.

For server-specific setup and connectivity checks, see Emby's connection guide. Senway Support cannot configure your router, server, VPN, firewall, or public address.

The server connects, but sign-in or library access fails

  1. Check that the username and password are for the Emby Server account, not a Plex, Jellyfin, or Senway account.
  2. Ask the server owner to confirm that this account is active and has access to the library you expect to see.
  3. If you use Emby Connect, ask the server owner to verify the account-to-server link. If you connect manually, confirm the server address is current.
  4. If the server address or secure-connection certificate has changed, ask the server owner to verify those settings.

A title starts, buffers, or shows a playback error

  1. Try another title, then try the affected title on another device using the same connection.
  2. Try again with subtitles off and with a different audio track, if available.
  3. If playback buffers, ask the server owner to check the server's upload capacity and playback or transcoding status.
  4. Record the title, approximate time of the issue, selected player, and exact error message. Do not change server transcoding or security settings unless you manage the server.

What to send Senway Support

Include your Senway 1 software version, the Emby player name and version if visible, your connection type, the exact error, and whether the same server works from a phone with Wi-Fi turned off. You may attach a screenshot after hiding usernames, server addresses, library names, and other private details.

Never send your Emby password, private server address, access token, or unredacted server logs. For Senway Wi-Fi or hotspot problems, see the Wi-Fi and hotspot guide. For app updates, see the Senway Store guide.
