Car info & diagnostics

Senway 1 only sends information to Senway when you choose to. This page explains the two times that can happen: when you tap Share on the “Share your car info?” screen, and when you tap Save diagnostics.

1. Car info (when you tap Share)

When Senway 1 connects to your car through CarPlay, your car introduces itself to Senway 1, the same way it does with an iPhone. If you tap Share, we receive:

  • Your car’s brand (for example, BMW)
  • Your car’s infotainment system and its software version (for example, MGU-56-BMW, software 26.16.3)
  • Your car’s screen size and supported frame rate (for example, 2736 × 800 pixels, 60 fps), and whether it has a second screen
  • How you control it (touch screen, control knob) and whether CarPlay is wireless or wired
  • Your Senway 1 ID and software version

Why: it tells us which cars Senway 1 runs on, so we can fix problems faster and keep our list of supported cars accurate.

We do not receive your car’s name, VIN, serial numbers, location, or anything about you as a person. If you tap No thanks, nothing is sent. You can change your choice anytime in Senway 1: Settings → My car.

2. Diagnostics reports (only when you tap Save diagnostics)

If something isn’t working, you can save a diagnostics report in Settings → Help → Save diagnostics. Senway 1 asks first and only sends it after you tap Agree. A report contains:

  • Technical details about Senway 1 and your car’s screen (size, sharpness, refresh rate, touch area)
  • Technical logs from Senway 1 and from its CarPlay software
  • A screenshot of the Senway 1 screen
  • A screen recording, only if you choose to record one
  • Your answers to the on-screen screen test

Before a report is sent, Senway 1 removes passwords, sign-in tokens, email addresses, Wi-Fi network names and keys, serial numbers (except your Senway 1 ID, so we can match the report to your box), and the names and addresses of devices on your network. Your car’s name is shortened to its brand (for example, “BMW”).

If a microSD card is inserted, a copy is saved there. Senway 1 never keeps reports on its own internal storage. When you send a report, you get a support code (like SW-7K3Q) to give our support team.

What we never collect

  • Your location or GPS position
  • Your contacts, messages or calls
  • Wi-Fi passwords or your Plex, Jellyfin or Emby sign-ins
  • Your car’s VIN

How long we keep it

  • Diagnostics reports: deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • Car info: kept while it helps us support your car. Stop sharing anytime in Settings → My car, and it’s removed from our records.

We don’t sell this information or use it for advertising.

Your choices and requests
