Pair or reconnect the Senway remote

The Senway remote is mapped and tested for Senway 1. Use this guide when pairing it for the first time.

Pair during first-time setup

  1. Keep the remote close to Senway 1.
  2. Follow the button combination displayed on the pairing screen. On the current interface, hold Home + Return together. Auto-connection only works if Senway remote is paired within 10 minutes of Senway 1 booting up.
  3. Continue holding until the remote indicator flashes.
  4. Wait for the on-screen confirmation, then select Next Step.

If your screen shows a different combination, follow the prompt shown by your installed software. The pairing shortcut can change between software versions.

Confirm that pairing succeeded

Open Settings. Under Connections, the Bluetooth row should show that the remote is connected and may also show its remaining battery level.

Test the controls that matter most:

  • Directional pad and centre/select button
  • Return
  • Home
  • Menu
  • Mute and voice controls where supported

The player-selection screen identifies whether an app is designed for touch, the Senway remote, or both. A touch-only player may not respond to every remote command even when the remote is paired correctly.

Reconnect the remote

  1. Move within one metre of Senway 1.
  2. Wake up the remote by pressing any buttons on the Senway remote and waiting a few seconds.
  3. Your Senway remote should be re-connected now.

If the indicator does not flash

  • Use the supplied power cable and charge the remote fully.
  • Hold both pairing buttons together for several seconds rather than tapping them.
  • Move other Bluetooth remotes or controllers away temporarily.
  • Restart Senway 1, then repeat pairing within 10 minutes of the home screen appearing.

If only some buttons work

First test the same buttons on the Senway home screen or Settings. This separates a remote problem from an app that does not support directional or media-key input.

  1. Test the directional pad, centre/select, Return, and Home in Settings.
  2. If they work there, check whether the selected media player is marked for touch, remote, or both.
  3. If they fail throughout Senway 1, forget and re-pair the remote.
  4. Check Settings > System Update and install an available Senway system update before testing again.

Before contacting support

Include the Senway 1 software version, remote battery level if shown, the exact buttons that do not respond, and whether those buttons fail in Settings as well as in your media player.
